Venue: Brockwell Lido / Herne Hill
Category: Herne Hill Free Film Festival
Date: 04.05.2013
Time: 20.00 h
Description:
Brockwell Lido is the ‘Waterloo-y’ venue for our screening of the fabulous Muriel’s Wedding (Dir PJ Hogan, 1994, Australia, Cert 15, 101 mins) on Saturday May 4, 2013 at 8pm.
This screening is very kindly being presented for FREE by The Luna Cinema – leading producers of open air cinema events.
ABBA-obsessed Muriel fantasizes about escaping her humdrum, small town Australian life and having a fairy-tale white wedding – but her path to the altar turns out to be anything but conventional. In turns both funny and moving, we doubt even the most stone-hearted cynic will leave this screening without a tear in their eye and the tune to Dancing Queen on their lips.
This is an outdoor screening without seats so please bring your own chairs, rugs or cushions. And as it’s an open air event we advise you to dress for British Summer weather! Even if it’s a lovely day, it might be chilly after dark.
This is a FREE event. No advance booking.
All our events are free to attend but donations to help fund future events are very welcome. Look out for collection buckets at screenings. Thank you for your generosity.
We expect this to be a very popular screening and capacity at the Lido is limited. The audience will be let in on a first come, first admitted basis – so aim to arrive in good time.
